Laurel Woodcock’s work often uses elements of language, a turn of phrase, song lyric, punctuation mark, typography, or element of syntax. These become materials from which she explores the problems and possibilities of language, its formal and semantic qualities and malleable meanings. Her work has been exhibited widely in Canada and internationally, and is represented in public, corporate and private collections. She received her MFA from NSCAD and is Associate Professor at University of Guelph.
