Canadian Scott Treleaven currently lives and works in Paris, France. His meditation on the cinematic image draws from his interest in metaphysical and subcultural phenomenon and marks a new approach to collage. Underscoring the physicality of the medium, he uses his images as a canvas for dazzling points of light, bursts of color, and diaristic sequences from the artist’s own collection of home movies, giving form to the otherwise imperceptible flow of light, time and memory that define the sensual experience of film, while adding an iconic edge to a medium that is delicate, intimate and fleeting. Recent exhibitions include: Night Work, Alison Jacques Gallery, London (2011); Art on Paper Biennial, The Weatherspoon Museum, North Carolina (2010); Male, Maureen Paley Gallery, London (2010); Cimitero Drawings, Marc Selwyn Fine Art, Los Angeles (2010); The Radiant Guest, Fireplace Project, East Hampton (2010); and Silver Make-Up, The Breeder, Athens (2009).
